MAHO SHADES

Bijgewerkt op: 25 jan. 2021

Maho’s frame designs and colorways are inspired by our travels to the great cities and natural landscapes of the world.

Maho Shades, anything less is just sunglasses

Rather than chasing trends, we design classic, comfortable frames with ultra-premium materials and superior functionality in mind. Our frames are all handmade in a family-run factory with plant-based cellulose acetate plastic and Italian stainless steel and 24K gold hardware.

OUR STORY

Founders and happy islanders, Maho Shades

Maho is a product of life in the Caribbean and Gulf Coast and our search for the perfect shades for endless summers. We believe life is too short to compromise on some things -- travel, good food, friends, family, and enjoying the outdoors.

After paying our dues as an interior designer and a corporate lawyer, we moved to the Virgin Islands to live our dream of spending every spare moment on the beach, in a boat, or in the water.

While spending thousands of hours on the crystal-clear Caribbean sea, our dissatisfaction with the status quo of mass-produced, expensive eyewear of questionable quality from the major brands crystallized into a business plan to produce highly functional, simple, beautiful handmade shades at a reasonable price.

We’ve since moved back to the white sands of the Gulf Coast, where we continue to expand our line of handmade, limited-edition polarized shades backed by a lifetime warranty. Our fast-growing community of customers and retailers has given our brand life beyond what we ever expected, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.

NINEFOOT'S FAVORITES

1. STOCKHOLM WHISKY

Inspired by the classic Nordic style and architecture of Stockholm, Sweden, this is the perfect frame for cosmopolitan adventuring, hiding an alter ego, or high-class vigilante justice.

2. STOCKHOLM TIDAL

The Stockholm is a best-selling classic inspired by Scandinavian design and 70s prep style. This round frame features pointed horn temples, a keyhole bridge, and slim, ultra-comfortable temples.

3. ULUWATU CHARCOAL

Named after the iconic Balinese surf paradise, the Uluwatu is nothing short of wayfarer perfection. This bold frame has a rectangular wayfarer silhouette and features a prominent brow and slim, comfort-optimized temples.
